Richard Wagner – Overture from “Tannhäuser”

The final concert will be the highlight of the Altmark Festspiele festival which traditionally takes place at the Marienkirche church at Salzwedel.

The Czech National Symphony Orchestra will perform the overture from Tannhäuser by Richard Wagner and Concerto for Violin and Orchestra No. 1 in G minor, Op. 26. from Max Bruch. The soloist will be the promising Asi Matathias, who made his debut at the age of 14 with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under the guidance of Zubin Mehta and demonstrated a musical maturity and inspiration far beyond his age.

The end of the concert and the entire festival will be Antonín Dvořák's ninth and last symphony “From the New World”. The concert will be conducted by Reinhard Seehafer.
