The Czech National Symphony Orchestra is coming to the UK!
The orchestra will embark on an extensive tour throughout the United Kingdom in late May of 2024, performing pieces by Antonín Dvořák, Bedřich Smetana, Max Bruch or Ludwig Van Beethoven in a unique style only this orchestra can achieve.
The orchestra will be led by Principal Conductor Steven Mercurio, accompanied by one of the night’s brilliant soloists. This includes the excellent British violinist Chloë Hanslip, who will perform a month earlier (April 2024) at the 2nd Subscription Concert of the orchestra in the Municipal House and the great British pianist Mark Bebbington. In Manchester audiences will have the chance to witness a performance by the director of the CNSO, trumpetist Jan Hasenöhrl, who will transport them to Argentina with his rendition of Libertango by Ástor Piazzolla.
The orchestra has already toured the UK with then chief conductor Libor Pešek, who served as the artistic director and chief conductor of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra for ten years (1987–1997). These concerts allowed the orchestra to establish a great reputation among British audiences.
On this tour, audience members will be able to enjoy the performance of traditional Czech repertoires especially. The orchestra will be visiting numerous cities including: Cambridge, Croydon, London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Birmingham and others.
