Festival Internacional de Música Clásica de Bogotá
The Czech National Symphony Orchestra is preparing for a tour in South America. In April 2025, the orchestra will perform at the prestigious Festival Internacional de Música Clásica de Bogotá, one of the most significant music festivals in Latin America.
Under the baton of its chief conductor Steven Mercurio, the CNSO will bring a rich program to Bogotá. The concerts will take place at Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo, the most renowned theater in Bogotá. This modern cultural venue is located within the Centro Cultural Biblioteca Pública Julio Mario Santo Domingo.
The orchestra will perform three concerts: Hollywood Gala, America, and Tribute to John Williams. The first and third concerts will be dedicated to film music, while the second will feature Antonín Dvořák's New World Symphony, Aaron Copland's Appalachian Spring, and Samuel Barber's Knoxville: Summer of 1915.
“We are thrilled to present our orchestra to the Colombian audience and hope that our performances will be an unforgettable experience for everyone, ” says Jan Hasenöhrl, director of the CNSO.
